The Oriental Sessions es una performance audiovisual creada a partir de obras interactivas generadas por Fabián Barros (fyslab) y sonorizadas en tiempo real por Hernán González (cooptrol).

The Oriental Sessions parte de una representación geográfica que funciona como eje simbólico con tres significados que se retroalimentan: "Oriental" por la República Oriental del Uruguay como origen y punto de partida. "Oriental" por la cultura del cercano y lejano oriente como punto de referencia. "Oriental" como punto cardinal, como dirección a seguir. The Oriental Sessions parte de una búsqueda expresiva para convertirse en un camino, un recorrido interior a la vez que físico que tiene un origen en Montevideo, Uruguay y se dirige inexorablemente con rumbo a Oriente, hacia donde nace el sol, en busca de luz.

For the artists they don't know about the Bourges Competition, that's the most important competition in electroacoustic music. It has been founded in 1973. It is devoted to composers coming from all levels, but also to sound artists, performers,... they practice different forms of sound arts. The registration is free. The selection is made anonymously (except the Magisterium). The jury is made with artists and personalities well-known in the esthetical fields related to the competition.
Several awards to notice in the rules.

Upon the request of readers, we asked faculty to recommend books for an interaction design reading list. These could be landmark texts, underdogs, or critical reads, or stepping stones to other fields. The following is what resulted from our request, comprising in part: a sneak preview of what will be assigned in courses; what some consider to be cornerstone interaction design texts; and what some consider important connections to other fields.

Instead of the motor skills (of traditional art), today's digital designer must develop an awareness of the many capabilities and sequences of interactions in the continuously growing set of pre-packaged digital tools. In other words, skill in the digital sense is nothing more than knowledge, and the reality is that we implicitly glorify rote memorization as the basis of skill for a digital designer.

The true skill of a digital designer is the practiced art of computer programming, or computation.
